Marrie Shirzada is an Associate at FREEDIN & ROWELL LLP and a member of the firm’s Corporate Commercial and Franchise Group.

Marrie’s practice focuses on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including business structuring, incorporations, corporate reorganizations, and the purchase and sale of privately held businesses. She advises clients on the drafting and negotiation of various commercial agreements, including shareholder agreements, service contracts, and franchise-related documentation.

Within the franchise space, Marrie assists franchisors and franchisees with the preparation and review of disclosure documents, franchise agreements, and related contracts. She also supports clients in the purchase and sale of franchised businesses, and in structuring their operations for long-term growth and compliance.

Marrie is known for her practical, business-minded approach and her ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice. She works closely with entrepreneurs, owner-operators, and growing businesses to help them manage risk, maintain good governance practices, and scale with confidence.

Before joining FREEDIN & ROWELL LLP, Marrie practiced at boutique and mid-sized firms, where she developed broad experience in corporate law, tax litigation, and professional liability. She has also acted as Preferred Counsel for LAWPRO.

Marrie earned her J.D. from Queen’s University, where she contributed to legal education initiatives and co-developed a tax guide for small businesses in Kingston. Outside of work, Marrie is passionate about fitness, health and wellness, and enjoys baking and reading.
